Program Description

At TAIE, we have programs for different kinds and levels of study, all of which are English-language and Canadian-culture-based.

In the English Language Centre, both students and professionals can improve their English for personal and career advancement by taking non-credit English ESL courses.  Alternatively, students can follow the academic ESL-English program for credit, laying the foundation for future academic study at a college or university. In addition, these credit courses can count towards an Ontario High School Diploma.

For individuals who need proof of English language proficiency, either for admission to an institution of higher learning, or for personal and career reasons, TAIE offers programs such as the TOEFL-preparation classes.

In addition, students wishing to enter the University of Alberta can have the TOEFL requirement waived if he or she takes the two EAP (English for Academic Purposes) courses offered jointly by TAIE and the University of Alberta.
