Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament

On April 13th we attended a Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. It was an amazing castle-like theatre with actors and actresses dressed like it was the middle ages. The students were fascinated by the costumes and vocabulary the staff brought into play. Guests could have their picture taken with the costumed staff for a small fee. The stadium, where the actual show was being held, was huge and could seat up to 300 people. The audience was divided into 5 teams based on the knights who were in competition. There was a storyline that also included a King, a prince, and a princess as well as the 5 knights. We were on the blue team and so coordinated with the blue knight who had to fight against the other knights, including the evil green knight who betrayed the king. It was amazing to see how the knights involved the audience in the action, which kept all of us on the edge of our seats, cheering and sometimes even booing!!!. Then it was time to eat, and the meal was absolutely delicious, but since the theme was medieval, we had to eat with our hands!  That was a real shock to say the least. The students gained a first-hand understanding of medieval times and experienced a little world history. All in all, the event was a great success; we had a good turnout and the students can’t wait to go again!
