Recently, 90 dedicated TAIE students volunteered at the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon 2024, embracing the spirit of community and teamwork in downtown Toronto. From early morning until mid-afternoon, they supported an impressive 23,000 participants, making a meaningful contribution to this large-scale event.
Starting at 6:30 AM at Nathan Phillips Square, ten students served as course marshals along Queen Street East to the Waverley area. In this critical role, they directed participants, managed pedestrian crossings, guided spectators, and maintained crowd control to ensure a safe and smooth course experience.
The remaining 80 students managed two busy tents at the finish line in Nathan Phillips Square, unpacking and distributing hundreds of boxes of bananas, apples, yogurt, energy bars, chips, and apple juice. They worked tirelessly to provide timely refreshments to marathon participants, offering encouragement and energy to the finishers, keeping the atmosphere lively and supportive.
TAIE is immensely proud of these students, whose efforts reflect our values of leadership, collaboration, and community engagement. They not only helped make the marathon a success but also strengthened their sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. These students embodied the power of community and created unforgettable memories, leaving a positive impact that extended far beyond the finish line.
