Learning Through Fun & Flavors!

emmalau45

This week, our students donned their aprons and transformed into little chefs, diving into an exciting hands-on baking adventure! Under the expert guidance of our ESL teacher, they created their very own cupcakes while honing their English language skills. It was a perfect mix of fun and learning, with students discovering new vocabulary like flour, sugar, whisk, and confidently using phrases such as “I am mixing” and “Next, pour the milk into the bowl.” The laughter and enthusiasm in the room made it clear that they were enjoying every moment.

But this activity was more than just baking—it was a full-on learning experience. Students practiced sequencing skills by organizing their steps with words like first, next, then, and finally. They strengthened their communication by asking and answering questions like, “What do we do next?” or “How much sugar do we need?” This interactive experience encouraged collaboration and built their confidence in both speaking and listening.

The learning didn’t stop after the cupcakes were made! Once the baking was done, students reflected on the process, discussing what they learned and applying their new vocabulary by writing their own cupcake recipes. It was incredible to see how they turned a fun activity into a meaningful learning moment—proving that education can be both enjoyable and impactful.

At our school, we are committed to creating engaging, real-world learning opportunities that go beyond textbooks. Hands-on activities like this not only reinforce language skills but also spark curiosity, foster teamwork, and build lasting memories. Because for us, education isn’t just about studying—it’s about inspiring students to explore, experience, and grow.
